Buchan was educated in Edinburgh and practised in Yorkshire, Edinburgh and London. His Domestic medicine, first pub. in 1769 went through a very large number of editions, both in England and America. He was father of popular medicine.
Quarter leather and worn marbled boards, some tanning and foxing, shelf wear, ink marks to front.

Contains a life of Buchan. The date of ca 1825 is inferred from remarks on p.vii of the editor's address.
