Philip Absalom was an 18th Century collector, his main interest being heraldry and genealogy. He was credited with 'making transcripts from the monumental inscriptions, and ascertaining the quarterings of the Arms' by John Neale in his book 'The History and Antiquities of the Abbey Church of St Peter, Westminster' 1818.
