Biography: (1811–1872) served as Deputy Inspector General of Hospitals, Madras Establishment. Born 1811 Roxburgh, Scotland, died 12 June 1872 India. M.D. Edinburgh Assistant Surgeon Madras Establishment 11 September 1835; posted to Goomsoor 1836; Assistant Surgeon 2 Regiment Light Cavalry 1 March 1837: Civil Surgeon Nellore 1842-45: Garrison Assistant Surgeon 1847; Civil Surgeon Tellichert 1848-52; Surgeon 29 February 1852; Surgeon 4 Regiment Light Cavalry 12 June 1852; Surgeon 11 Native Infantry 23 March 1861; Surgeon Major 1862: at the disposal of the Government of India 1867. Retired with rank of Deputy Inspector General of Hospitals 29 February 1868. Service: Indian Munity.
