Accompanied by letter from Christie's, dated 12th February 1982, stating that the painting, in their opinion, is a 17th century Italian copy.
Also accompanied by letter from Dr Marijke van den Brandhof, dated 13th July July 1982, outlining a similar conclusion.

Condition: The canvas is lined and tacked onto the stretcher frame.
There is a vertical line of paint losses, running centrally top to bottom, which is likely caused by the cross bar of a prior stretcher frame.
Craquelure, consistent with age.
