Martini was a native Danzig and physician to Duc de Brieg in Silesia. Caesar ODONUS or DONON was a physician in Bologna and director of the Botanical Gardens there. His work is directed against the charlatans.

Older velum binding is marked and soiled, old reinforcement to fore edge of engraved half title. Title page has what appears to be an ex-libris ink inscription to the bottom margin.
