Very rare second edition of Browne's book, made up from sheets of the first with new title. 'This work was a complete plagiarism and … is an almost verbatim copy of Molins' description of muscles with the plates modified from Casserio. The book went through a number of editions in English and was translated into Latin and German.' (Russell, British Anatomy 101) 'This is a re-issue of the sheets of the 1681 edition with a new title. It is entered in the Term Catalogues under Easter Term, May 1683. Colin Richardson in his catalogue 148, 1965 lists a copy which has pp. 47/48 and 59/60 in two states, one bearing more text in each case, the other intended to be cancelled. RCP has a copy of the 1681 editon which has both cancelland and cancel leaves of pp. 47/48 and 59/60. Another copy contains cancels for pp. 47/48 and 59/60; p. 47 being a combination of pp. 47 and 61 of the 1683 edition, pp. 61/62 having been cancelled. KFR copies of the 1681 and 1683 editions have pp. 61/62 cancelled and removed, the catchword on p. 60 being correct for p. 63. In both copies pp. 47/48 are on a cancel leaf, but pp. 59/60 are on the cancelland. Leaf Ff is paged 115/114. NYAM has a copy with the cancel leaf paged 113/114 replacing the cancelland.'
