OTHER NOTES: According to the accompanying documentation this painting was collected at Wadeye (Port Keats) in 1959. The documentation reads in part: 'The artist has explained this painting as being 'blackfellow' tracks between two rivers (central panel) with billabongs scattered across the Moyle plains near Port Keats. Dugout canoes boomerangs and rocks are all shown. Most important of all however is the mighty Fitzroy River which meets the sea in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf and which was really carved out by Kunmungurr the giant python of the Dreamtime who is also the creator of storms like the Rainbow Serpent of Arnhem Land mythology'
