George I Walnut Longcase Clock With 8 day 2 train movement, silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial and date dial. Manufactured in house, by Stephen Horseman and possibly Daniel Quare, London, circa 1724. Original hand-cut walnut veneered case, interior with hand-written label. (H260cm)
OTHER NOTES: Stephen Horseman was apprenticed to Daniel Quare and went into partnership with him in 1715, eventually taking over the business in 1724, the year of Quare's death.
