19th C Tiffany & Co. Bowie Clip point blade with false edge. Etched with an eagle, wings outspread and carrying a bag in its beak. Patriotic mottos 'A Californian ask for nothing but what is right and submit to nothing that is wrong'. 'I can dig gold from quartz', 'Californian bowie knife'. Stamped 'Tiffany Broadway New York USA' to ricasso. Nickel silver guard, bolster, and pommel. Slim ivory grip. NB: ivory export restrictions (L31.5cm)
