Indian Tulwar with Fine Wootz Steel Blade
Heavy curved blade with unsharpened 21cm false edge. Dark steel with high contrast swirling pattern. Arsenal acceptance inscriptions on both sides of the blade in telugu script (sword no. 922). Iron hilt with knuckle-bow, all over heavy gold koftgari decoration with some wear. Later scabbard. Old collection accession No.15 to back of blade. (L95cm) Ex Lawson Menzies auction 3.5.04.
