Which, with the approval of the highest authority: by the authority of the most reverend man, Mr. William Robertson, S.S.T.P., Prefect of the Academy of Edinburgh: by the consent of the most almighty academic senate, and by the decree of the most noble medical faculty: for the degree of doctor, the highest honours and privileges in medicine, duly and lawfully obtained).

Thesis for M.D. Edinburgh. This is the author's own copy with his admission card to the Edinburgh University Library dated 15 Dec.1787 to 1788 pasted on free end paper.
In a particularly notable Rococo Edinburgh binding of red morocco, with green oval onlay in centre of covers columns, birds, vases and festoons in gilt, figures of Britannia on green centre piece, marbled end papers, gilt and gauffered edges. Minor tanning.
