[529]-576 is Johannes Walaci Epistolæ duæ de molu chyli et sanguinis with 3 plates (one of which is from Aselli). Thomas Bartholin's test is taken from that of his father with additions notably Thomas' discovery of the thoracic duct. Thomas was professor of mathematics and then anatomy at Copenhagen, he was a supporter of William Harvey's work and very prominent in the discovery of the lymphatic system in which he claims priority over Pecquot and Rudbeck. The appendix De lacteis thoracicis, describes the thoracic duct in man, discovered by Bartholin. Full impressed brown leather, with gold embossed title to spine, cracking to spine and Shelf wear, p51 small tear, foxing, tanning, some marks, slight pages wave. Has some worm holes.
