1647 First French Translation of Anatomist Caspar Bartholin's 'Institutions Anatomiques'

Casper Bartholin was a noted Danish Anatomi book was made very popular by his son Thomas who edited and augmented it in a number of editions. Thomas's son, also Caspar, was an anatomist too.
Caspar (senior) held more chairs than anyone in history. He was successively professor of philosophy at Basle (1607), of anatomy at Naples (1609), of Greek at Montpellier (1610), of eloquence at Copenhagen (1612), of medicine at Copenhagen (1613) and of theology at Copenhagen (1624).
Johannes Walæus (Johannes de Wale) (1604-1649), professor of anatomy at Leyden, supported Harvey's work. His two letters were published in the 1643 edition of Harvey's De Motu Cordis (and in later editions). They had been printed earlier in 1640. Thomas Bartholin was a pupil of Walaeus.
