Two French Volumes on Human Anatomy: Combined Volume of Jean Palfijn (Vol 1), Frederik Ruysch and Brisseau, with a separate Jean Palfijn (Volume 2)
Palfyn was a Flemish anatomist and obstetrician who is best known for inventing obstetric forceps for medical use.
'Ruysch, professor of anatomy at Leyden and Amsterdam, is noted for his method of injecting vessels. The recipe for the material used by Ruysch has remained a secret. He gave the first description of broncial blood vessels and vascular plexuses of the heart, demonstrating the valves of the lumphatics, and made a great number of other important discoveries in anatomy.' (Garrison & Morton 389).
Brisseau was Professor of anatomy and botany at Doüay. 'He was the first to demonstrate the true nature and location of cataract.' (Garrison & Morton 5825).
