Kenneth Fitzpatrick Russell (1911-1987) was Professor of Anatomy and Medical History at the University of Melbourne. He had a passion for medical history in all its forms especially books and instruments. He wrote extensively, often on items he had found, and compiled British Anatomy 1525-1800 (second edition 1987). He established the Medical History Museum at University of Melbourne and was heavily involved with medical history and allied societies.
His Ex Libris Anatomica bookplate used for his anatomical books, is based on the title page of the 1493 edition of Anatomica by Mondino dei Luzzi (c.1275-1326).
Bound in red cloth, some offsetting to the free leaves. Otherwise an excellent unused copy. Black slipcase also very good.
