Alan Evans Negative Archive
Over 250 envelopes, most containing multiple negatives, nearly all titled and dated.
Alan Evans was the staff photographer for the George Davis group of companies which included Davis Gelatine, Cockatoo Docks & Engineering, and Glen Davis shale oil plant.
The majority of these were taken between 1938 - 1946 and mostly comprise portraits of employees (many in WWII service uniform), office and buildings, and many other subjects relating to friends, dogs and work. Preponderance of photos are on 'Super XX Cut Film' or 'Pan Cut Film' (size 11x8.5 cm)
While the envelopes are foxed and toned, most of the negatives are in very good condition, likely not removed from their packets over the last 80 years. No evidence of mould seen during examination.
