Bell was one of the most outstanding anatomists and surgeon of his time. An excellent draftsman.

Morton studied at the University College London, admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1835, and eventually became demonstrator and full surgeon at North London Hospital, as well as Surgeon to the Queen's Bench Prison. He was a teacher of anatomy and practising surgeon.

Blue buckram cover with chips and marks, sunning, shelf wear, yellow endpapers rubbed, coloured pics, 8 Colour Plates, mostly intact except: Plate IV is delicate with damage/torn and lacking pieces (image mostly intact), 6cm cut to Plate VII, minor foxing and tanning.
