Jenty was a French surgeon and anatomist who had residences in England and Spain. He had a private school of anatomy in London. This is the explanatory text for his large folio plates. See Russell 476-484 for the Jenty plates, their artist and the subsequent history of the original drawings. Scarce.

Translation of the text - no facsimile: 'Anatomical observations on the round window.' Archives of Otolaryngology 1962 vol 75 pp. 2-45. 'Scarpa's first scientific work, a comparative anatomical investigation of the ear, in which he offered a more accurate and complete description of the osseos labyrinth and demonstrated the true function of the round window.' (Garrison & Morton 1550) 'Scarpa made important researches concerning the auditory and olfactory apparatus of fishes, bird, reptiles, and man.' (Garrison & Morton 1453). 'Scarpa was a skilled draughtsman. He personally trained Faustino Anderloni, the artist who made the drawings and engravings for his books.' (Garrison & Morton 1253).
