Tauvry was a Paris physician. His Nouvelle anatomic vaisonnée first appeared in 1690 with other editions in 1693, 1698, 1720, 1721. The English edition is a translation of the 1698 text. His book also appears in Latin in Ulm in 1693 and 1694. Original full leather binding is aged and corner worn, front joint cracked. Losses to front pastedown, frontispiece and title a little soiled. Text has the rare odd stain or mark, but overall extremely clean and unhandled. Refer to images. Some plates have been mis-matched to their explanatory texts at time of binding.
