This edition contains a brief history of anatomy and a list of questions to which the students should know the answers.

Robert Hooper (1772-1835) was an MA MB of Pembroke College, Oxford and MD St Andrews, Scotland and admitted as a Licentiate at the Royal College of Physicians in 1805. He practiced in Savile Row, London. He was a lecturer, collector of specimens and prolific writer. Hooper's Vade-Mecum was a pocket book reference guide for students and physicians. Its portability made it very popular.
