Hunter was a Scottish surgeon and scientist who strongly advocated for the Scientific Method in medicine. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1767 and he set up his own anatomy school in London. The Hunterian Society of London holds his name, as does the Hunterian Museum in London, which houses his anatomical collection of skeletons.
