Followed by a transcript of the strident anti-Papist protest given from the Altar of St. James Church by Robert Allwood 2 weeks later. The bulk of this book are 6 subsequent lectures of a deeply theological nature refuting the claim of Papal Infallibility, given by Reverend Allwood. Ferg. 3544. Title page has an ink gift inscription from W. …?... to J.D.L. (John Dunmore Lang) Also includes an 1869 list of services at St. Andrews. Publishers original quarter calf on brown paper boards has heavy corner bumping. Hinge line worn and loss to portion of title on the spine. Hinge cracked at title page.
