Edwardian Thespian Artworks Eighty five original artworks, collected between 1896 and 1906. The large majority reference British stage, music hall or panto shows at this time. Mostly by different artists and appear to be done as a pastime by the actors while on the road or in 'down' time? as a keepsake for the album's owner. Quality of ability varies though mostly quite high for amateurs. Noted 3 or 4 by Herbert Whatley a known postcard artist. Also one by 'Alma' (artist Alma Murray 1854-1945). The usual few tributes to Charles Dana Gibson, Louis Wain and Dutch children which were popular then. Condition of the album is poor, loose binding, well handled chipped and soiled pages, and hinge edge water stains to earlier pages. Many have been pasted in, some created direct to the album page.
