Numerous photographic illustrations + maps. 358pp. Tsuji was Chief of Operations and Planning Staff, 25th Japanese Army Malaya. The original Japanese publication was titled ‘Shona, The Hinge of Fate.' Translated by Margaret Lake, lecturer in Japanese, Sydney University. Preface includes a note from Tsuji on this edition, and the Introduction provided by Gordon Bennett. There is an inserted newspaper clipping (1968) which gives a very interesting account of Tsuji's life (currently missing for 4 years in Vietnam) Pictorial wrapper in shabby condition, losses, splits and tears. Boards (featuring massed captured enemy) are bumped and worn to the corners. Contents are mostly clean and straight, occasional foxing and one underlining noted.
