Written at the expressed wish of His Excellency the governor Lord Hopetoun and presented to him by the writer James Kirby of Minyip, one of the earliest if not the earliest bush pioneers of the Colony of Victoria, now living. 312pp. Small rubber stamp 'New Issue.' Reminiscence of a settler in the lawless colonial outposts of Victoria with the usual bushrangers, much on 'Black' contact and involvement, murder and colonial tomfoolery. Later rebinding in half calf on red paper boards mildly soiled. Text block dusted to the top, contents very clean and straight. (19x13cm)
