His splendid plates were reprinted several times. His plates for De Formato Foetu are particularly noteworthy. His plates were plagiarised by John Browne. From the 1627 Venice Edition, bound in half Seta-Rips and Hahnemühle paper, bound by Richard Meyer Stuttgart, West Germany, with cream slip cover, title on label, bump to corner. Pub. FIRENZE: Nella Stamperia Piatti, 1820. Collation: Vol 1 title, pp[iii]-xii, 203pp. Vol 2 title, pp 3-189, [2] leaves. Mascagni was professor of anatomy and physiology at Siena. He designed a great anatomical atlas. After Mascagni's death a book was published in 1819 by Francesco Antommarchi, Mascagni's Prosector and Napoleon's physician, which, it is claimed, appears to be the work of Mascagni.
