John Kay was a barber who became a renowned caricaturist in Edinburgh. The British Museum holds much of his work.
Maroon leather binding with buckram board, title to spine, much shelf wear, marbled endpapers, Vol 1 cover unattached, well-worn covers and spine, cover corners have been re-laminated, some foxing and tanning.
