Nunn was Consulting Surgeon to the Middlesex Hospital. Purple buckram, with gold embossed title to spine, shelf wear, spots and sunning, foxing and tanning, endpapers cracking. Facsimile, University of Auckland, 1971. No 64 of 1000 copies. Collation: Title, 21 leaves :: 39 plates (with 2 portraits and a note on the illustrators). Originally published in 1754, 25 of the plates were drawn by Jan van Rymsdyk and his original drawings were bought by William Hunter and are now in Hunterian Museum, Glasgow. Eleven of the drawings were by Peter Comper and the originals of these are in the RCP, Edinburgh. Smellie was the master of British midwifery. Very good condition with few marks.
