INNES, John (1793-1777) was a student of Alexander Munro who appointed him a prosector of anatomy and then director of the anatomy theatre, later becoming Professor of the Practice of Physic at Edinburgh University. He died of tuberculosis. 'A Short Description of the Human Muscles, chiefly as they appear on dissection.
