Crimea Medal 1854 Clasp for Alma. Awarded to Dr William Browne, Surgeon 95th Regiment. Biography: Born Blackheath 12 July 1823 died Scutari 28 November 1854 Assistant Surgeon 11 September 1846 3 West Indian Regiment. Staff 8 December 1848: Surgeon 94 Regiment 17 June 1853: Staff 15 August 1854 Surgeon 95th Regiment 27 October 1854. On the 28th of November last, at Sculari, of remittent fever, brought on by incessant attention to the sick and wounded and by exposure on the heights near Sebastopol, William Browne Esq. Surgeon of the 95th Regiment aged 31. He accompanied the Staff all through the battle of the Alma, and was also present at other engagements. Service: Crimea - Alma.
