Lacks frontispiece and plates XI and XII (2 of 3 special plates presented for artists) Cowper (1666-1709) was a surgeon practicing in London. published his Myotomia Reformata as a small volume in 1694. This edition, virtually a new book, was edited by Richard Mead (1673-1754) Ref. Russell British Anatomy 210. 20th C binding in quarter calf on marbled boards, good condition, spine a little sunned. Title page toned, spotted soiled to the top. Much of the text is damp stain/dust affected to the top edges, random fine foxing spots and marks.
