Later on Hunter's death he took charge of the Great Windmill School of Anatomy with Matthew Baillie. His work on the lymphatics is outstanding. First printed in London in 1786 it was translated into French and German. It cemented his name in medical history." From the library of Claude D. Balme (1742-1805) celebrated French physician and writer. Original full leather binding worn and rubbed to the edges. Title page toned, andwith Balme's ownership inscription. Generally the text is very clean and unhandled, binding good. The 3 plates are also very good for age. (197x126mm)
