Detailed blockbuster of this predominantly Tasmanian Battalion. From Gallipoli to the Somme, Pozieres, through to the final 1918 offensive. Photos provided by various officers and the War Museum. As a cachet, found within is an original snapshot of 17 officers in a Camp setting, 16 named in pencil verso. Also an original 3 page note for Platoon Commanders by Captain Edward Butler on mopping up operations on the Meteren-Fletre road in April 1918…..'No.2 and 4 Platoons will draw hot stew at Cross Rds and carry the containers for No.s 1 and three. The food containers, blankets, waterproof sheets, overalls etc. will be brought down to X Rds. …….the Coy will advance on the left side of the Flete-Meteren Road and mop up the (…?) of the villages west of this line….' Blue title on plain white cloth boards are aged, spotted and bumped corners. Spine panel has insect depredation and darkening. Preliminaries foxed, text block spotted. Very light occasional foxing through the text, not too bad. Binding good. The maps are generally (18x38cm) or smaller (includes The Tasmanian post at Gallipoli) and are in good condition.
