OTHER NOTES:
In 1954 the artist travelled to Magnetic Island and then to New Guinea with Donald Friend, painting in Kwato Island for a month. She held a solo exhibition featuring works from this period at Macquarie Galleries in 1955.

Geoffrey Elworthy (1917-1994) was a patron of the arts, plantation owner and orchid grower who hosted Margaret Olley and other artists at his home in Port Moresby in the 1960s.
