HURLEY, Frank (1885-1962) 'The End: the Wreck of the Endurance' Signed 'Frank Hurley,' lower left. The Endurance was Ernest Shackleton's ship on the 1914-1917 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.It became trapped in ice, & finally sank in the Weddell Sea off Antarctica on 21st November, 1915. Frank Hurley joined the expedition as official photographer in October 1914. Provenance: private family collection, NSW, since c.1918.
